How to watch the Superbowl 2019 without cable?
The big game is almost here. This year the Los Angeles Rams will be playing against the New England Patriots. This is the 53rd Superbowl or LIII if you remember Roman numerals (Thanks Google) :)
Superbowl 53 will be aired on CBS on Sunday February 3rd at 6:30PM EST.
CBS will be airing the Superbowl this year. This is a change as NBC aired the Superbowl last year.
How to watch the Superbowl with an HD antenna
If you don't already have an HD antenna we highly reccomend that you get one. We have been trying to relay the message that you can get all of your local major networks in 1080P for FREE. If getting ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW and PBS in HD with no monthly fees isn't worth $40 or $50, we don't know what is. Did we mention that you can get up to 100 other channels as well for free?

How to watch Superbowl LIII using CBS apps
CBS All Access
CBS All Access is a paid subscription for CBS shows. CBS has confirmed that the Superbowl will be aired on this app for all of its subscribers. CBS All Access does cost $5.99 a month for its base package. For $9.99 a month you can remove all of the commercials from on demand content. This will not remove live channels from the live CBS channels.
CBS All Access offers a 7 day free trial. So you could sign up for the free trial just to watch the Superbowl and then cancel it. Just make sure that if you are planning to cancel that you set a reminder to do so!
www.cbssports.com and the CBS Sports App - Possible
Both services listed above require a cable subscription login in order to access live video. Without a cable subscription login you cannot use these services. However last year NBC lifted this requirement so everyone could stream the Superbowl without a cable subscription. CBS has not confirmed that they will do the same as NBC. But if history is telling, they will probably lift the requirement.
Conclusion
We still feel that every household needs an HD antenna. It's a one time purchase and there are no monthly fees for life. If you live in an area where you get a lot of channels with an antenna, it is a no brainer.
However as we have listed above, there are lots of ways to watch the content you love for little or no money. It just takes a little research and patience.
